Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FlipFolio collects, uses, stores, and shares information when users access the FlipFolio mobile application and related services.
FlipFolio (“FlipFolio,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and shared when you use the FlipFolio mobile application and related services.
By using FlipFolio, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
FlipFolio is a vehicle portfolio and resale management app designed to help users organize vehicle information, expenses, listings, partner activity, documents, and related business records.
Depending on the features you use, FlipFolio may store information on your device, in your personal iCloud or CloudKit storage, and through secure backend synchronization used to support app functionality, account-linked features, reporting, and cross-platform support. FlipFolio does not sell your personal information.
When you use Sign in with Apple or maintain an account profile in the app, FlipFolio may collect your Apple user identifier, display name, account email address if provided by Apple or entered by you, mobile number if you provide it when that feature is available, and your Partner ID or similar in-app account identifier generated upon sign up.
FlipFolio may collect information you enter about vehicles, including year, make, model, trim, VIN, mileage, color, purchase details, listing details, sale details, status information, notes, price history, title-acquired status, and warning or recall information associated with a vehicle.
FlipFolio may collect and store expenses, categories and notes for expenses, contributor or payout information, partner-related financial allocations, sold-vehicle settlement information, and calculated financial metrics such as profit, ROI, amount owed, or amount owed to you.
If you choose to add media or documents, FlipFolio may store cover photos, gallery photos, imported image files, PDFs, text files, and other documents you select and attach to a vehicle record.
If you use partner features, FlipFolio may collect and store partner requests, accepted partner connections, partner listing invitations, per-car permissions, partner display names, and partner-related financial participation details.
FlipFolio may process limited technical and diagnostic information necessary to operate the app, such as app sync timestamps, last active or last seen times, feature state related to syncing, and local security settings such as whether Face ID is enabled. FlipFolio is not designed to collect broad device tracking information for advertising purposes.
We collect information directly from you when you enter or upload it, from Apple when you use Sign in with Apple, from iCloud or CloudKit when your data syncs across devices, from backend synchronization systems that help maintain account-linked and app-related records, and from free public vehicle-information sources when you request VIN-based or vehicle-related lookups.
We use collected information to create and maintain your account, authenticate you, save and display your vehicles and related records, sync your data across your devices, provide vehicle tracking, listing, and resale management features, support partner and collaboration features, calculate financial summaries and partner balances, generate account-linked app reports and future cross-platform functionality, detect and respond to errors or security issues, and improve app performance, reliability, and future features.
If you sign in using Apple, FlipFolio may receive a unique Apple user identifier, your name, and your email address if Apple provides it. Apple may only provide name and email on the first authorization. FlipFolio may store profile information you provide or that was previously received so your profile remains consistent across future sessions. FlipFolio does not receive your Apple password.
If iCloud is enabled on your device and available for FlipFolio, certain app data may sync using Apple CloudKit. This may include garage and vehicle records, account-related profile information, and associated app content you choose to store through the app. CloudKit data used by FlipFolio is intended to support your use of the app and syncing between your devices. Availability depends on your Apple account status, device settings, and Apple services.
FlipFolio may also use secure backend synchronization to support application functionality, account-linked services, reporting, administrative operations, future iPad or web experiences, and related product features. This backend synchronization may include structured account and vehicle-related information such as account identifiers, display name, account email, vehicle portfolio data, expenses, tasks, partner-related records, financial summaries, timestamps, and related app data.
If you grant permission, FlipFolio may access your photo library, camera, and files you choose to import. This access is only used to support features you request, such as adding a cover photo, storing gallery images, uploading supporting documents, or scanning VINs and related vehicle information. FlipFolio only accesses selected files or images when you choose to use those features.
FlipFolio may use VIN or vehicle-related lookup services to provide features such as VIN decoding, recall or warning checks, and vehicle detail population. Results from public or external vehicle data sources may be incomplete, delayed, or not guaranteed to reflect full vehicle history. FlipFolio does not guarantee that any recall, warning, title, or history information is exhaustive or current.
If you use the Partners features, FlipFolio may allow certain records to be shared with approved partners within the app. Depending on permissions set for a specific vehicle, shared information may include vehicle details, expenses, tasks, limited or full financial details, and settlement-related records. Partner visibility may vary by vehicle and by permission settings. Some information may be restricted based on the owner’s selected access controls.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in limited circumstances with service providers and platform services such as Apple and secure backend providers, with approved in-app partners when you choose to share records, and for legal or safety reasons if disclosure is necessary to comply with law, protect users, or investigate misuse.
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide app functionality, maintain your account, support sync and reporting features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Data may remain on your device until deleted, in iCloud until removed or overwritten, and in backend systems for operational continuity, recordkeeping, and service support subject to retention needs.
You may be able to sign in or out of the app, update your name or profile information within the app, choose whether to add photos, files, notes, expenses, and partner activity, enable or disable Face ID, control iCloud availability through your Apple device settings, delete content from the app, and remove the app from your device. Some synced or backend-stored information may persist for a period of time consistent with retention, backup, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. These may include platform-provided authentication, secure transport encryption, server-side authorization controls, restricted administrative access, and secure storage mechanisms offered by Apple and backend providers. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You use FlipFolio at your own risk and remain responsible for maintaining the security of your device and Apple account.
FlipFolio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
If you use FlipFolio outside your home jurisdiction, your information may be processed and stored in countries where service providers or infrastructure operate. By using FlipFolio, you understand that your information may be transferred and processed outside your local jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.
FlipFolio may rely on third-party platforms or infrastructure, including Apple services and backend service providers. Their use of information may be governed by their own privacy policies and terms where applicable. Examples may include Apple Sign in with Apple, Apple iCloud or CloudKit, secure backend infrastructure providers, and public or external vehicle-information sources used for VIN or recall-related features.
FlipFolio is a management tool, not a guaranteed title-history, ownership-history, or insurance-history reporting service. Any vehicle alerts, warnings, VIN results, or related data shown in the app are provided for convenience and may be incomplete or based on limited external sources. Users should independently verify important vehicle information before making business, purchase, resale, safety, or legal decisions.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will revise the Last Updated date above. Your continued use of FlipFolio after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy to the extent permitted by law.
